Dev used to be a man of principles. But he abandoned those after he was forced into an impossible situation by his former friend and colleague: Nolan. And while it feels freeing not to have to adhere to his coda anymore, he also senses he’s adrift. Untethered like the pirate ship he’s now living on.
All of this comes to a head when one of his shipmates: another expat from the Sovereign Coalition, tells Dev that Nolan’s plans could be used to upset the balance of power in the Coalition, and has set the organization on a path to war. A subsequent attack on a Coalition Space Station seems to confirm these predictions, drawing the crew of the Mettle into a conspiracy they want no part of.
Despite wanting to stay out of the Coalition’s politics, the crew is pulled into the middle of the storm and it will be up to Dev to find a way out, before they’re all either arrested or killed.
